You asked, and we responded! The HHRC has spent to 2019/2020 school year creating and piloting programs focusing on anti-bias and anti-Semitism. The programs, Words Matter: Anti-Bias and Bullying and The Least That One Can Demand: Recognizing Bias are well-researched programs that incorporate tools from Teaching Tolerance, Facing History and Ourselves, the Anti-Defamation League, Yad Vashem and other leaders in the field. Participants will learn about techniques, explore resources, and have an immersive experience in recognizing bias and taking actions necessary to continue to learn about these important topics.
This is a workshop that will include time for participants to interact, problem-solve together, and create and share a lesson plan or guiding essential questions that they can incorporate into their classroom.
Who should attend: Current or pre-service K-12 ELA/English and Social Studies/History teachers.
